Chinese green tea is studied by many researchers. Based on researches that have been done, it is known that Chinese green tea can lose weight. Here are some research summaries:

People drink more green tea lost more weight rather than those who have oolong tea. Why green tea is better than other tea variants for losing weight? Catechin is the answer of that question. Catechin is a substance that can increase metabolism of fat and inhibit fat digestion by preventing some digestive enzymes to be released. This "fat fighter" prevents fat build-up in the body, thus weight gain is prevented. Concentration of catechin in green tea is greater than oolong tea. That is why green tea can lose more weight rather than other tea variants.

Another important substance contained in green tea is polyphenol. Polyphenol takes part to help regulate appetite due to certain hormones and leptin. Leptin is a type of protein aiding in managing fat storage. Higher level of leptin can increase appetite, while lower level of leptin can decrease appetite. Polyphenol, especially ECGG type contained in green tea helps in minimizing leptin level in the body. The effect of lower level leptin is the body can lead to natural weight loss.

One of the most important properties contained in green tea is noradrenaline. Noradrenaline is a neurotransmitter that is known to affect the activation of BAT or brown fat tissue, type of fat that is known to have metabolic activities. BAT can burn fats around the waist, thighs and hips.

Other benefits of Chinese green tea are helping in improving the condition of heart and bone density. Because there are many benefits provided by Chinese green tea, I think it’s a good time to start drink a cup of Chinese green tea daily.
