For centuries, the Chinese have known the benefits of drinking green tea, but now the great advantages of this tea are known worldwide. But still not many people are aware of the secrets behind the uniqueness of its functioning in the human body. It contains substances which do wonders for this fantastic tea.

It contains antioxidants which are responsible for most of its workings. These antioxidants do the following things:

  4. It also helps in maintaining oral health.
  5. It functions as a free radical remover which is the main aging-causing agents.

It improves the ratio of good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. That means it maintains the level of LDL and HDL.

One of the antioxidants present is EGCG. This antioxidant is almost 100 times more effective than any kind of vitamin. It is also around 25 times more effective in protecting any harmful effect on the body.

There are two important types of antioxidants present in green tea which helps it in lowering the blood sugar level of your body. They are polyphenols and another called polysaccharine. It is also considered for altering the rate of metabolism. It functions as a fat burner and controls calories. Therefore it imparts a healthy diet in the human body.

Black tea is obtained from the same plant but does not offer such benefits. The reason for this is because it loses all its important substances during the process of fermentation. The fermentation process makes green tea unique in its own way.

It also functions very well in inhibiting the formation of plaque hence destroying all the bacteria's that can effect your body's oral system.
